I found it quite a coincidence on page 13 of this volume (top of the page on left) that there was an ordnance explosion on the Battleship USS Iowa that killed 3 Sailors. The article did not state when the incident occurred but indicated this was not an isolated case, and that it was a regrettable part of the learning curve. Unfortunately the same type thing occurred on board a different Battleship with the same name almost a century later. The Date was April 19, 1989 when 47 Sailors aboard the Battleship Iowa perished when turret 2 of that ship exploded. God rest all these Sailors of the Battleship Iowa.

Sorry about that but I was a year off on the volume. It was May 1903 that I was refering to. I would expect that most anybody would have noticed by the page number that I made reference to was much earlier in time than I stated.
